Celebrating its 10th year in existence is the MDM Foundation, a non profit organization founded by The Jones Family in an effort to provide aid to underprivileged children in South Florida, and as a means to give back to the community.
The MDM Foundation has raised more than $200,000 to benefit various charitable causes benefiting young people, and has encouraged progressive education by sponsoring high school student’s participation in college campus visits.
Annually, the MDM Foundation hosts a weekend trip to Disney World for 50 at-risk youth, ages 7-16, from the South Florida area, for which the foundation has received much praise and recognition. The expense free trip includes a 3-night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios, visits to Disney World and Universal Studios, and concludes with brunch and an awards ceremony at the Contemporary Hotel, with Disney Characters as featured guests. Chosen from the Weed & Seed Program of Riviera Beach, Aspira of Miami, St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church of Boynton Beach, and Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church of Riviera Beach, young people are selected based on progressive behavior and an essay indicating why they should be chosen to attend.
In addition, the MDM Foundation annually sponsors an in-need family at Christmas. The Jones Family personally delivers a decorated tree, gifts for each family member, and Christmas dinner, much to the appreciation of its recipients.
The efforts of the MDM Foundation have been lauded by many, including The Sun Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, and the Philadelphia Tribune.
